The Royal Gorge BridgeThe Royal Gorge Bridge & Park is unlike any destination you'll ever experience. The Royal Gorge Bridge and Park is a journey of epic proportions with more than 360 acres and 21 rides, shows and attractions to explore. This attraction is where families and friends alike will marvel at the awe-inspiring panoramic views from one of the world's highest suspension bridges – hanging 956 feet high and spanning a quarter mile across the canyon. But whether you're looking to sightsee, have an adventure, go on a family vacation or a day trip, this one-of-a-kind attraction has something for everyone. The Gorge was created some thee million years ago when a trickle of water first began to slowly carve a canyon out of the solid granite bedrock. Today that trickle is the raging Arkansas, one of America's longest rivers. This Masterpiece of Nature continues to evolve as the raging river is still carving away at the granite rocks at a rate of one foot every 2,500 years in the Royal Gorge in Cañon City, Colorado.

Royal Gorge Route RailroadNext let's take a look at the Royal Gorge Route Railroad. The Royal Gorge Route Railroad is a privately owned Colorado Attraction that has grown exponentially since its launch in 1999. It's Colorado's most historic rail line that was dubbed early on as "The Scenic Line of the World" for its stunning scenery and first-class railcar service. This two hour trip, on average, is one of our finest attractions as they take you through the Royal Gorge to view the spectacle of what nature has done and enjoy fine food and wines along the way.

If world class wine is what you're looking for then be sure to stop at The Winery at the Holy Cross Abbey in Cañon City. Today, that dream is a reality, and the staff at the winery proudly invites you to share in the vision of those dynamic and innovative monks. Since July 2002, the Winery at the Holy Cross Abbey has been attracting visitors from all over the world. Located on the pastoral and serene grounds of the Holy Cross Abbey, nestled against the spectacular backdrop of the Wet Mountains, the winery and tasting room are shining examples of what draws visitors to Cañon City and Fremont County. The tasting room is open daily, and the gracious staff will guide you through a tasting of multi-award winning wines. Most are complimentary, while the reserve wines cost $1.00 to taste. Riesling, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc are some of the many Colorado varietals.
